Did you know that half of all the decisions you make might fail. It is a part of life that human beings are not made perfect. Do not beat yourself when your decisions take you down the wrong road … Try to perfect and learn from this mistakes.

Below, are a few things that you can do, to avoid making the wrong decisions. ( Decision-making process )

1. When you are faced with a decision, think about your desired outcome instead of facing that decision as a problem to be solved. Problems are negative by definition and negative thoughts invoke the bad responses in us, rather than helping us to relax and be creative. To make good decisions, you need a creative thought process.

2. Do not think you know, or can handle everything. Asking for advice from loved ones and trusted companions, can improve decision-making. The decisions you make should still be all yours, but getting all the information you can, is definitely not a bad idea.

3. Sleep on your decisions. Sometimes in life, instant decisions are neccessary. I do not recommend putting off your decisions, but,I encourage you to think very well on a decision before taking any action. It provides new insights, and this is why, it is recommended.

4. You should begin Now. ( Well begun is half done ). Begin implementing your decisions immediately .. Start with anything you can do right now to push you forward, … towards your desired outcome ( success ).

5. This one is important; Always trust your gut. This is a tough one, for the fact-based people to accept. The truth is that, when your gut tells you something is wrong, you really need to pay attention. Think about what Henry Ford said -  ( If you think you can do a thing or think you can not do a thing, … either ways, you are right. So, if something inside you does not believe you can make a decision work …. Well, answer that for yourself … :)

6. The old ways of decision making, focuses on how to make decisions …. and it results in only 50% success rate.
You will make better decisions, if you focus on WHY you are making a particular decision. You will have better results if you can elaborate each decision you make.

7. Try to always view your decisions in a positive way. Almost everyone is immuned to treating their decisions as a problem to be solved. I think there are two things at play here. Be careful, we as humans get what we focus on. Second our mind does not recognize the word ( not ). As an example, an organization I know had a check list of reasons for why an order was delivered late. This only increased the problem, until they changed their focus to measuring and rewarding when the orders were on time or ahead of schedule.

Ok … that is it for now. I hope, you can apply this decision-making techniques to guide you towards the success, which you desire. Progress to you.
